He stated: "This event will be held by the Social Security Tourism Holding (HEGTA) and in partnership with the Arvand Free Zone Organization and the Khuzestan Governorate, in cooperation with the Abadan and Khorramshahr governorates, the Abadan and Khorramshahr Chambers of Commerce, the Sugarcane Development Company, the Abadan Oil Refining Company, the Cultural Heritage of Khuzestan Province, and other institutions. We are seeking to create a platform for knowledge exchange, strengthening international cooperation, and introducing the region's medical and therapeutic capacities, and of course, attracting investment and developing medical and recreational infrastructure. This synergy is an opportunity for the province's tourism development that should be seized."

Yari Hesar added: "Medical tourism is one of the key and growing areas in the tourism industry that can lead to economic development and improvement of medical services. Arvand Free Zone, with its strategic location and appropriate infrastructure, has the potential to become a prominent hub in this field." The secretary of the event also noted: "The presence of ambassadors, foreign investors, representatives of the public and private sectors, doctors, startups and medical universities provides a good opportunity for networking and creating sustainable partnerships. Startups and universities will also play an important role in promoting this industry by providing innovations."

According to Yari Hesar, this event is an effective step towards sustainable development and increasing Iran's presence in the global medical tourism market. He referred to the pre-conference of the first international event on investment opportunities in medical tourism in February last year (2024) at the Homa Hotel in Tehran and said: This event was held with the presence of ambassadors from different countries, domestic and foreign guests, and a group of health and tourism activists, and was able to attract a lot of attention to the capacities of the Arvand Free Zone in the field of medical tourism.

The secretary of the event continued: In this pre-conference, four specialized panels were held on various topics, including investment opportunities, innovation in medical services, international cooperation, and the role of the private sector in the development of medical tourism.

Yari Hesar added: Various specialized panels have been prepared for this event with the presence of prominent domestic and foreign experts. Bilateral and multilateral discussions will also be held to explore opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of medical tourism so that we can achieve practical and effective solutions. We have tried to accelerate the attraction of investment and the development of tourism infrastructure in the Arvand, Abadan and Khorramshahr Free Zones by developing investment packages and opportunities. He added: One of the special parts of this event is the organization of a side exhibition to introduce the medical, therapeutic and tourism capacities of the Arvand Free Zone. This exhibition provides an opportunity for domestic and foreign guests to become familiar with the unique potential of the region. Our goal is to facilitate the attraction of investment and increase the presence of medical tourists in the region with these measures and strengthen Arvand's position in this industry.
